Professional ballerina and studio director Kristina Pulcini is the principal teacher at KPBA. Kristina is passionate about drawing from her extensive training and performance experiences at Boston Ballet, Tulsa Ballet and Staatsballett Berlin to evoke enthusiasm for the beautiful art of ballet in each individual student.
Kristina believes that ballet should reflect the intended beauty, purity and goodness of the art form. This philosophy is based on the scriptural passage from Phillipians 4:8: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Kristina’s philosophy has been shaped by the book, “Art for God’s Sake,” written by Philip Graham Ryken, current president of Wheaton College and former senior minister of historic Tenth Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA.
MAGICAL PERFORMING OPPORTUNITIES
All of our dancers have the opportunity to perform in exciting full-length ballet productions, just like the big professional ballet companies. They experience bright lights, great choreography and music, professional costumes and enthusiastic audiences. Our training prepares them for the magic associated with classical ballets such at The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote and Sleeping Beauty. We also perform in new works such as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. DVBT is an outstanding regional ballet company offering a truly professional and magical experience.
We have an outstanding artistic staff of skilled professional instructors. All have professional dance careers, academic degrees and extensive teaching experience. Each staff member is dedicated to providing a creative, inspiring and fun learning environment while upholding the highest standards of classical ballet excellence and purity.
CONVENIENT, PROFESSIONAL FACILITIES AND ROSCO DANCE FLOOR
KPBA facilities include a professional size grand studio to ensure the development of safe and proper technique.
Our Rosco Sub-Floor ensures the perfect resilience (spring or bounce), stability, flexibility and resistance to absorb the energy from a dancer’s impact. This protects students from injuries that can result from dancing on hard surfaces. Our top layer of flooring is Rosco’s Adagio, used by many professional dance companies. Adagio’s controlled slip vinyl surface provides skid resistance and comfort.
